In a March 2010 issue of Small Capital- a South Africa self-help magazine (I got mine bundled with the Entrepreneur Magazine!), the author wrote thus about Social Media:
“If you think social media is what kids do on their cell phones all day, or what your receptionist does with “ that facebook thing, then you have some reading to do…”

There is more to social media than just a kid’s thing; there is absolutely no doubt that the internet is the next big media platform, this includes all those social websites. Facebook alone, according to Alexa, is the number 2 most popular website globally, this shows that social media, in the near by future is going to such a big issue when it comes to commerce, communication and relationship.
Therefore as a business, individual or brand, you can only ignore social media for now but not for long, especially if you target the youth.
